Personal Training

Cole has been a personal trainer at Texas Health and Racquet Club for two and a half years. He has his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sport Science with a minor in Health from Texas Tech University. During his senior year he completed an internship with the university’s strength and conditioning  department. He worked with a wide range of athletes throughout the internship in the sports of baseball, softball, volleyball, women’s basketball, women’s soccer, and women’s tennis. The internship enabled him to become Strength and Conditioning Coach certified through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches association in May of 2007. He recently became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning association in July of 2008. Through continued education and a strong desire to better  himself, Cole continues to design and implement training programs for a wide range of people with unique health and fitness levels. He believes firmly that a strong work ethic with and unwavering commitment is necessary for success. Cole is determined to provide a challenging,safe, and fun training experience for anyone with the dedication needed to attain success.

Ryan is currently in his junior year at Texas State University pursuing a Bachelors of Business Administration, and majoring in Finance. As a qualified T.H.R.C. Personal Trainer, he currently holds a Personal Training certification through The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). Sports and exercise have always been a large part of Ryan's life. He became very involved in strength training in high school in order to improve his performance in soccer, tennis, and golf. Ryan continues to improve his physical condition and health through strength training and activities such as cycling. To Ryan, proper exercise and nutrition are the basics to leading a healthy and happy lifestyle. Whether you are looking to lose weight or compete in your first triathlon, Ryan can tailor a workout to help you accomplish and exceed your goals.

Taylor Mayers is currently attending Texas State University to earn his Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Sports Science. Taylor also has his PFT certification through The Cooper Institute, and is constantly expanding his knowledge and abilities in order to become one of the best experts in the fitness industry. He has built a reputation with clients for his dedication to changing the lives of those who put complete trust in his programs. According to Taylor, "The key to success is having the courage to change, and willingness to shoulder whatever responsibility that entails." His ability to inspire his clients is evident in his own work ethic. Whether your goal is to lose body fat, build massive muscle, or maintain a healthy lifestyle, Taylor is equipped with the skills to help you reach your goals.

Jimmy is our Personal Trainer Department Head at Texas Health & Racquet Club. He obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. He is also an enlisted member of the 136th Airlift Wing in the Texas Air National Guard. He has been in the military since 2006 and has been training in exercise and wellness for over 12 years. During this time, he has developed a passion for health and fitness and wants to change as many lives as possible. Jimmy has transformed his own physique through dedication, hard work, and most importantly, consistency! He strongly believes that fitness is a journey and not a destination, and that hard work pays off! Whether you want to lose body fat and become healthier, or see some serious gains in strength and muscle, Jimmy is looking forward to tailoring personalized workouts and helping you reach your fitness goals!

Chelsea is currently a junior at Texas State University pursuing her bachelor’s degree in exercise sports science, with a minor in both business and biology.  Chelsea currently competes in the 400 hurdles for Texas State University. With an extensive background and knowledge base centered on sports, Chelsea has an ability to create specific guidelines that incorporate motivation, discipline, and accountability for her clients. Chelsea’s passion is helping people live healthier lifestyles and longer lives. Clients will stay motivated by witnessing the positive changes and quality of their lives. Through continued education and a strong desire for success, Chelsea is prepared to design and implement training programs for  a  wide  range  of  people  with  unique  health  and  fitness  levels.

Patrick Higgins is a graduate from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Sports Science with extreme emphasis on health and kinesiology. Patrick holds a diverse fitness background, which includes 8 years of strength and conditioning training. He maintains his health level and physical fitness abilities by following his own personal workout regiment on a regular basis. While his training programs can prove to be nothing less than challenging, Patrick likes to maintain a fun and friendly environment for himself and his clients. He is capable of tailoring a workout for each and every individual based on their personal fitness capabilities, in effect producing the much sought after goals that a person is seeking. His degree, as well as his certification through The Cooper Institute, enables him to provide clients with the reassurance that his knowledge and attitude towards health and fitness is well accredited.

Hom is a recent graduate from Texas State University, receiving his bachelor's degree in Business Management from the accredited McCoy College of Business. Hom holds an extensive background in athletics, from being named as an All-State football and baseball player, to holding a Collegiate Football school record from Wheaton College in Illinois. Hom has been Involved with various resistance programs for over 13 years, which has catapulted his passion for health and wellness, and the ability to help change the lives of individuals. Hom is a new member to THRC, and brings a new and exciting outlook to health and wellness and its ability to carry over into individuals' everyday lives.
